The PowerShift and SelectShift technology is available in the transmission systems of the Ford Focus. Both models also have several signature passive safety features, such as the Safety Canopy System. Some of the paint options that are available for the S base trim include Ingot Silver and Shadow Black. The SE model comes in Lighting Blue, Outrageous Green and other vibrant colors.
Performance
A 2.0 L engine block with the Ti-VCT technology propels the 2018 Ford Focus S trim. This naturally aspirated, four-cylinder engine produces up to 160 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque. Displacing only 1.0 L, the SE's EcoBoost engine generates a maximum of 160 hp and 125 lb-ft of torque. An I-3 configuration is another unorthodox feature of this signature powertrain. A five-speed manual transmission is standard in the S trim, and a six-speed manual transmission is installed in the SE. Both models are available with the PowerShift automatic transmission that includes a total of six gear ratios. Additionally, the SelectShift technology is available for the SE's automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive (FWD) works with the drivetrain and powertrain combinations in these Focus models. As a more expensive edition, the SE wears 16-inch or 17-inch aluminum wheels. Painted in silver, 15-inch wheels are installed on the S trim.
Interior
A 4.2-inch LCD screen is installed in the center stacks of the 2018 Ford Focus S and SE. This color display comes with the traditional SYNC technology, which supports enhanced voice recognition. Both sedans have conventional AM/FM reception, and the SE comes standard with SiriusXM Satellite Radio. The sound systems in these Ford models include four speakers with speed-sensitive operation. Smart-charging USB ports provide good utility for smartphone and gadget users in the Focus S and SE. Thanks to the PowerCode Remote Start System, you could remotely start the ignition. Both cars also have the MyKey technology that's electronically programmed to prevent unauthorized access. For its relatively starting low price, the Focus SE boasts other premium amenities, such as rear heating vents and a heated steering wheel.
Safety
Dual-stage front airbags are standard in the 2018 Ford Focus S and SE. Featuring side curtain airbags in the front and second rows, the Safety Canopy System is another reliable amenity in the passive safety category. These compact sedans have the patented Personal Safety System and Belt-Minder. A driver's knee airbag is another notable installation that mitigates injuries in the cabin. Linked to the SecuriLock Passive Anti-Theft System, the Focus S and SE won't give auto thieves much of a chance. In the active safety domain, both models have the AdvanceTrac technology that provides a reliable boost on curved paths and slippery surfaces.
